Academic Support in the Clinical Nurse Leader Option: Challenges, Student Feedback and Recommendations

Dr. Vanessa P. Fahie, devoted the past 26 years of her nursing career to transforming nursing education and increasing workforce diversity through pipeline programs that increase the number of nurses from underrepresented backgrounds in the nursing workforce. Partnerships with K-16 institutions as well as professional nursing organizations were created to prepare the next generation of nurse leaders and scholars. Her current project enhances diversity and develops leadership skills among master’s level nursing students. Dr. Fahie has mentored numerous faculty and students who have earned graduate degrees and are nurse educators, advanced practice nurses, nursing and public health administrators, and researchers.
