A multimodal mentoring model: A method to enhance professional socialization of minority and disadvantaged students


Biography

Graduate of North Carolina Central University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, and a Master of Science in Nursing (1983) and PhD. in Nursing (1991) from the University of Maryland at Baltimore; an educator for the past 39 years at the undergraduate and graduate level at several institutions. Currently I am the Associate Dean for Inclusive Excellence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing and the project director for a $2 million, four-year grant from the Health Resources Services Administration to enhance the experience and success of minority and disadvantaged students entitled MENTORS2.
