Reducing Linguistic and Cultural Bias in Exam Items: A Capstone Project Promoting Inclusive Nursing Education
Amy Fiala, RN, PHN, MS is a clinical assistant professor in the Undergraduate BSN Program at the University of North Dakota (UND). She has taught nursing courses on health promotion, diversity, health equity, healthcare infrastructure, pathophysiology, pediatrics, family, public health nursing, and many clinical courses. She has worked as a Nurse Mentor for the Recruitment and Retention of American Indians into Nursing (RAIN) Program at UND and as an RN in Public Health, Neonatal Intensive Care, and Postpartum OB. She has served on the Holistic Admissions Task Force and is actively involved in many areas of the department.
