A Call to Action: Creating Health Policy Solutions Through Doctoral Education

As nurse experts seeking to transform health systems to improve health outcomes and health equity, we can make a difference by building into our education system the tools and competencies that students will need upon graduation to impact health policy. In this presentation will discuss current efforts to create an array of opportunities for students to gain knowledge, skills and confidence in engaging in health policy during their doctoral studies. We will also explore ideas on how to use doctoral education in accordance with the AACN Essentials to create more nurse-led policy solutions that address the most pressing concerns in health and healthcare today.
